Lutah
2014 - Lutah Maria Riggs navigated her way through the male-centric world of architecture and offered a freshness to the established styles of Southern California, including Santa Barbara’s Vedanta Temple and Lobero Theatre.
Initially eclipsed by her male contemporaries in the early 20th century, Riggs blazed a trail for women, relying on the courage of her convictions and a hint of eccentricity. Through never-before-seen photographs and journal entries, along with candid interviews and rare footage of private homes, the documentary reveals a side of Lutah that had previously gone unnoticed.
